Dr. Bin Yang

DMD, PhD

BOARD CERTIFIED PROSTHODONTIST

Hi! I’m Dr. Bin Yang, senior specialist dentist at DentArt Chicago.

I received my dental degree at Zhengzhou University in 1994, and Master degree and clinical training at Peking University China from 1996 to 2001. With my husband Dr. Li, Qingshan, Dr Yang started her DMD program, PhD program and clinical training in Prosthodontics in 2003 at the Christian-Albrechts University at Kiel, Germany and obtained her DMD degree in 2005 and PhD degree in 2008 as the first dentist achieving PhD in Materials and Engineering in Germany. In 2015 I became Board Certified Prosthodontist by American Board of Prosthodontics and recertified in 2022.

As a trained and board-certified Prosthodontist, I’ve spent over 25 years restoring teeth and smiles with complex full-mouth oral rehabilitation, esthetic dentistry, digital dentistry, implant restorations, and helping patients like you to feel more confident. As prosthodontists, like the conductor of a symphony, I provide evidence-based patient-centered dental cares through a multi-disciplinary approach. This is the core feature of dental care at DentArt Chicago. We provide patient care in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning, followed by active care, which in complex cases requires teamwork from general dentists and specialists in endodontics, periodontics, orthodontics, and oral and maxillofacial surgery to complete a complex patient treatment.

I’ve had patients tell me that before coming to my practice, they suffered from prolonged, unresolved dental problems despite regular dental visits. That’s because the root cause of their problems and related risk factors weren’t identified and assessed. I provide a comprehensive oral exam and risk assessment to identify and understand the root cause of your problems. Because of this, I can then offer effective solutions that cater to your budget—from affordable to high-end.

Having spent more than 20 years teaching dentistry, 8 years teaching implant dentistry and cosmetic dentistry, and 20 years as a clinical researcher in advanced dental materials and engineering (tooth bonding, ceramic restorations, implant dentistry, the remineralization in early dental caries with bioactive materials), I understand the development of dental disease, the solid foundation of successful implants and aesthetic restorations, their failure mechanism and how to prevent those failures.

Your smile and your health are important to me, so I use advanced diagnostic technology, high quality dental materials, and tailored treatment plans to ensure that you have a safe and comfortable experience. I take an integrated approach to your oral health, and I believe in improving your nutrition, chewing ability, speech, smile, and overall confidence. After all, you aren’t just your teeth, right? . . . Exactly!

I received my dental degree training as “Top one” student at Zhengzhou University, China in 1994, and Master degree and clinical training at Restorative department, Peking University China in 2001. In 2003-2005, I pursued my DMD and specialty training at Restorative department, Dental school, Christian-Albrechts University, Germany. In order to better understand the bonding/cementation of adhesive resin cements to dental ceramics and human dentin and conduct multi-disciplinary collaboration, I started to pursue my PhD program at Materials and Engineering department from the Christian-Albrechts University at Kiel with the title "Adhesion of adhesive resin cements to dental ceramics and human dentin". I achieved my PhD degree in Materials and Engineering as the very first dentist completing PhD program in Germany in 2008. In 2015, I got Board Certified Prosthodontist by American Board of Prosthodontics after I pass very strict board certification examination following three years specialty training in Prosthodontics at the University of Rochester. In 2022, my board recertification was complete after examination.

As prosthodontists, I provide evidence-based patient-centered dental care through a multi-disciplinary approach, which is the core feature of dental care at DentArt Chicago. Patient care commences with assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning, followed by active care, which in most cases requires working in conjunction with general dentists and specialists such as endodontics, periodontics, orthodontics, and oral and maxillofacial surgery to complete a complex patient treatment. Like the conductor of a symphony, a prosthodontist plays the leading, helping direct the best care for patients. I love my specialty to help people with their dental care!
